Project Engineer (m/w/d) R&D - SPRIND Tech Metal Transformation Challenge

This is your new passion

• You will oversee and manage our project together with our expert team within the SPRIND Tech Metal Transformation Challenge.
• You will think beyond existing procedures and develop creative solution approaches for recycling processes - from the initial idea to prototyping to validation in the overall system.
• You will bring biological, chemical, and physically-mechanical processes together in a modular overall system with the project team and drive their further development forward.
• You will coordinate technical work packages for recovering critical metals from electrical waste (e.g. circuit boards, electronic components) and work closely with internal teams.
• You will be the central point of contact for SPRIND, external project partners, research institutions, and consortium partners.
• You will prepare pitches, milestone presentations, and jury reviews and represent WeSortAI externally in a sovereign manner.
• You will create technical reports, project documentation, and progress reports for SPRIND and internal stakeholders.
• You will keep track of schedule, budget, and milestones together with the team and steer the project goal-oriented through each challenge stage.

This is what excites us

• A completed degree in the field of process engineering, materials science, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, environmental technology, or a comparable engineering qualification.
• Fundamental knowledge in at least one of the following areas: recycling technologies, metallurgy, hydrometallurgy, processing technology, bio-leaching, electrochemistry, or secondary raw material processing.
• Experience in leading or coordinating complex R&D projects - ideally in funded projects (SPRIND, BMBF, EU funding programs, etc.).
• A strong team spirit and the ability to work in a project team in a partnership-based, reliable, and on-eye manner.
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken form, allowing you to mediate between technology, management, sponsors, and external partners.
• Outstanding presentation skills - you feel confident presenting before expert juries, consortium partners, and stakeholders.
• A structured, self-responsible work style with a hands-on mentality and sense of priorities.
• Fluent German and English language skills in both written and spoken form.
• Passion for sustainability, circular economy, and disruptive technologies.
