About the Role

As Project Development Manager (m/w/d), you will be responsible for battery energy storage projects and lead them through all approval and planning phases until Ready-to-Build status (RTB). The role is implementation-oriented. You will work closely with municipalities, authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure that approval processes are efficient, structured, and focused on implementation.

Tasks:

• Eigenständige Betreuung eines Portfolios von Batterie-Energiespeicherprojekten von der Einreichung bis zum Ready-to-Build-Status (RTB)
• Steuerung und aktive Vorantreibung aller Genehmigungsprozesse**,** insbesondere Baugenehmigungsverfahren, Privilegierte Vorhaben gemäß §35 und Bebauungs- bzw. Bauleitplanverfahren (falls erforderlich)
• Zentrale Ansprechperson für Kommunen, Genehmigungs- und Baubehörden und Externe Gutachter, Planer und Berater
• Vorbereitung, Einreichung und aktive Nachverfolgung aller genehmigungsrelevanten Unterlagen
• Bearbeitung von Rückfragen und Auflagen der Behörden sowie Sicherstellung einer fristgerechten Umsetzung
• Nachverfolgung von Meilensteinen, Fristen und Risiken über mehrere parallele Projekte hinweg
• Proaktive Identifikation von Genehmigungsengpässen sowie Entwicklung pragmatischer Lösungsansätze
• Vertretung der Projekte in Terminen mit Behörden und Kommunen bei Bedarf

• You will work independently and proactively, without close guidance on fundamental topics of project development
• You will maintain active and consistent contact with authorities and other stakeholders to advance projects
• You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize them sensibly
• You communicate clearly, professionally, and solution-oriented with municipalities, authorities, and internal partners
• You recognize risks and bottlenecks early on and address them pragmatically
• You work structured, enduringly, and result-oriented with a clear focus on implementation
• You appear confidently outside and represent projects sovereignly against authorities and municipalities

Qualifications:

Necessary

• At least 2 years of professional experience in project development in the field of renewable energies
• Practical experience in managing projects through German approval and licensing procedures
• Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) and/or solar projects
• Fundamental understanding of building permit procedures and cooperation with authorities
• Able to manage multiple projects independently and consistently advance them
• Very good German language skills in writing and speaking for collaboration with municipalities and authorities

Desirable

• Direct experience with building plan or zoning procedures
• End-to-End responsibility for projects until Ready-to-Build status
• Numerical evidence of the ability to efficiently manage approval processes and resolve bottlenecks early on
