- Permanent Full Time Position (40 hrs) working on a 6-day roster across Monday to Saturday.

Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services.
As part of the Comcare-MHAPS Peer Hub, our Peer Services Facilitation Programme delivers group-based peer support and structured, educational group programmes that support recovery, connection, and learning for tāngata whaiora. These evidence-based programmes are grounded in lived experience, peer support principles, and trauma-informed practice.
About this role
As a Programme Facilitator, you will coordinate and deliver a variety of peer-led group programmes through which participants share learning, build mutual support, and progress towards their goals. These include discussion-based peer support groups that provide safe spaces for sharing experiences and recovery-focused conversations, community-style groups that foster social connection, and structured educational groups that deliver practical skills, knowledge, and strategies to support wellbeing and personal growth.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage the intake process for group programmes and conduct participant inductions.
- Facilitate structured group programmes using peer support principles and trauma-informed practice.
- Help to refine existing programmes and develop new ones using evidence-based practice and codesign principles
- Adapt content and methods to meet diverse cultural needs, learning styles and abilities.
- Co-facilitate with colleagues or guest facilitators where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, feedback, and outcomes.
- Prepare and manage facilitation resources and programme materials.
- Use evaluation tools to review participant progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Promote awareness of Comcare’s Programme Facilitation services and contribute to community education efforts.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- It is desirable that you have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 - Mental Health and Addiction Support (or equivalent qualification) or are committed to studying towards one.
- Lived experience of mental illness, addiction, or recovery, and the ability to use that experience purposefully and professionally.
- Experience developing group content and resources tailored to participant needs.
- Previous experience working peer support, ideally in group settings.
- Experience facilitating group programmes, workshops, or group-based support.
- Understanding of recovery principles, peer values, and trauma-informed practice.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to manage group dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Cultural awareness and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Strong digital literacy and well-developed organisational skills.
- Ability to work to a fixed working pattern that includes weekend service delivery.
- Applicants must hold a current full, clean driver’s license.
