Job description

POST ENVIRONMENT:

A school of the ministry in charge of industry, IMT Mines Albi is a school of the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT), France's leading group of engineering and management schools. At the forefront of industrial and academic challenges on the international stage, it acts as a territorial scientific and economic driver by combining its four missions: training engineers by integrating the dynamics of sustainable development, conducting scientific research, contributing to economic development, and disseminating the culture of science, technology, and innovation, in a virtuous and innovation-driving cycle.

Its positioning in terms of training and research makes IMT Mines Albi a benchmark school in three of IMT's four themes: responsible industry of the future; energy, circular economy, and society; engineering, health, and well-being. In 2023, IMT Mines Albi adopted a strategic plan for a five-year period, broken down into seven major actions, responding to the strategic orientations of the IMT group to which it belongs.

IMT Mines Albi represents:

  • 985 engineering students and researchers in training;

  • 300 staff members;

  • a consolidated budget of €32 million;

  • three training and research centers: Institut Clément Ader Albi (ICA-A), RAPSODEE, and Centre Génie Industriel.

The Institut Clément Ader Albi (ICA-A) Center is a training and research center of IMT Mines Albi. It brings together 70 people, including 20 teacher-researchers.

In terms of training, it is a player in the generalist engineering training at IMT Mines Albi, under student or apprenticeship status, and leads the "Advanced Materials and Processes for Tomorrow's Transportation" specialization.

In terms of research, it is an integral part of the Institut Clément Ader (ICA – UMR CNRS 5312), a laboratory bringing together 250 people and developing scientific themes focused on materials engineering and mechanics, particularly in the field of aeronautics. Its five supervisory bodies are INSA Toulouse, ISAE-SUPAERO, Université Paul Sabatier, IMT Mines Albi, and CNRS.

ICA Website: https://ica.cnrs.fr/

ICA conducts studies on mechanical structures, systems, and processes. Its sectors of activity are the mechanical industries, with a particular focus on aerospace, space, transport, and energy.

The Institut Clément Ader Albi center contributes to ICA's four research groups:

  • Composite Materials and Structures;

  • Surfaces, Machining, Materials, Tools;

  • Metrology, Identification, Control, Monitoring;

  • Modeling of Mechanical Systems and Microsystems.

ICA-A's scope of action is to optimize tools or material forming processes (metals, composites, polymers, glasses, etc.) and to study the relationships between microstructure, process, and behavior, particularly for the aeronautics and space sectors. Its activities are strongly experimental, but also numerical.

ICA-A has its own research platform on the IMT Mines Albi campus, the MIMAUSA platform. ICA-A has been a Restricted Zone (ZRR) since 2021.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Generally, the recruited person will participate in the school's educational projects, training missions, research and technology transfer activities, the setup and monitoring of contractual activities, as well as national and international collaborations. They will actively contribute to the development of these activities and may be required to assume administrative and supervisory responsibilities.

The recruited person will notably be responsible for:

  • pedagogical responsibilities: head of teaching cycle, head of specialization, head of Master's or Mastère program, head of teaching unit;

  • and/or research responsibilities: center director, deputy center director, head of research group, head of research axis, platform manager;
