Job description
Are you an inspirer who can operationalize strategic IT goals and stimulate innovation within your team? Do you want to develop and maintain a secure and modern generic technical IT infrastructure? And do you ensure that daily operations run safely and efficiently?
Then we are looking for you!
Where you make the difference
As Product Manager Data and Web Services, you are responsible for the development and realization of the product roadmap and you guide the processes necessary to realize our products and services in accordance with the applicable frameworks. Together with 13 colleagues, you work on keeping our technical IT service provision operational daily and further developing it.
An important development is the further expansion of self-service, among other things through the use of Infrastructure as Code and by exposing our services via APIs. Security, compliance, and efficiency are central to this. Our services comply with the applicable CIS and ISO frameworks from the design phase onwards, with adherence to security and compliance policy being a priority.
You will guide a team of 10 to 15 engineers and senior engineers in Agile working and product development. You stimulate a proactive approach and ensure the connection between strategic objectives and daily execution. You will work closely with fellow product managers, architects, service managers, operations teams, and other stakeholders.
Your main tasks are:
You develop a coherent product strategy and vision for the product suite of the Data and Web Services team and align it with the Head of IGI and other stakeholders. In this, you ensure innovation as well as security, compliance, and efficiency.
You translate the established product strategy and vision into a multi-year roadmap, quarterly plans, and a product backlog.
You organize and guide Agile events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and refinements, both within and outside your own team. You also coach team members.
You are the first point of contact for technical teams, architects, Security Services, Contracts & Finance, and service management. You promote collaboration and ensure alignment on product goals and strategies.
You maintain contact with users and other product managers, gather feedback, and translate their challenges and needs into further product development.
Together with the Head of IGI and other product managers, you develop KPIs and success metrics, for example for adoption, efficiency, costs, and productivity of engineers. You make the performance of delivered services transparent and oversee security, compliance, availability, and performance. For this, you utilize existing insights from service management and develop additional insights where necessary.
Your future colleagues
You will work in the Data and Web Services team of the Generic Infrastructure (IGI) department. This department consists of approximately 30 experts, spread across our locations in Heerlen and The Hague. The Data and Web Services team has about 15 colleagues who also work at both locations.
We work according to an Agile methodology in combination with ITIL. We value active contribution to this way of working. This includes, among other things, creating high-quality stories and epics, keeping stories up-to-date on the Azure DevOps board, and actively and constructively participating in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaboration, continuous improvement, and enjoyment of work are important to us. These are also anchored in our core values.
This is you
You are an initiative-taking, entrepreneurial, and independent product manager who combines strategic insight with basic technical knowledge. You understand the technical challenges of our infrastructure services and can effectively communicate about them with both engineers and other stakeholders.
You possess methodological knowledge of Agile and Scrum and know how to stimulate collaboration and continuous improvement within a team. You can think strategically, recognize relevant market trends, and translate them into a product vision. You can connect various interests and needs.
You have a strong ambition to facilitate the user and customer experience to the fullest. Continuous collaborative improvement is in your DNA. You see opportunities to further develop our service provision and take initiative to actually realize improvements.
You also recognize yourself in the following:
You possess basic technical knowledge and have an understanding of APIs, cloud systems, and software and/or infrastructure architecture.
You have knowledge of Agile and Scrum and possess the methodological skills to apply these working methods.
You have strong social and communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.
You are capable of thinking strategically and translating market trends into a clear product vision.
You work independently and entrepreneurially, take initiative, and stimulate a proactive way of working.
You are focused on continuous collaborative improvement and are attentive to the needs and experiences of users and customers.
Factually well-arranged
For our employment conditions, we follow the CAO Rijk (Dutch Civil Service Collective Labour Agreement). This means that you can count on the following, among other things:
A salary of at least € 4818,- and a maximum of € 7094,- gross per month based on 36 hours. Depending on your knowledge and experience. If you do not yet possess all the necessary knowledge and experience at the start of your role, a temporary scaling in a lower salary scale may be chosen. You will make agreements about this with your manager at the start of your role.
8% holiday allowance and a 13th month. In total, this is 16.5% on top of your salary. We call this the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). You decide how, when, and in what way you want to use this budget.
Pension accrual with the ABP Pension Fund.
