Production Planner & Scheduler

Our client, a significant entity within the manufacturing and production industry , is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Production Planner & Scheduler for their facility in Polokwane, Limpopo . This role is crucial for ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and on time, by creating optimized production schedules that align with demand, material availability, and resource capacity. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency in planning software, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. This position offers a key role in operational efficiency, with a hybrid work model providing flexibility for strategic planning and on-site coordination.

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for all manufacturing lines.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely material availability and resource allocation.
• Monitor production progress against schedule and proactively address any deviations or bottlenecks.
• Optimize production plans to maximize throughput, minimize downtime, and reduce costs.
• Generate reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and forecast accuracy.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to support production demands.
• Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings.
• Maintain and update planning system data to ensure accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the planning and scheduling function.
• Communicate production status and potential issues to relevant stakeholders.

• A Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with production planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle ASCP, or similar ERP/MRP systems).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
• Experience in demand forecasting is a plus.
