Production & Material Planner

Job description

Content Group is an Italian pharmaceutical CDMO specializing in the development, manufacturing, aseptic filling, and packaging of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and cosmetics.

Thanks to decades of experience in the ophthalmic and inhalation sectors, we value expertise, innovation, and quality through two leading entities: C.O.C. Farmaceutici and Tubilux Pharma.

For our Pomezia site, we are looking for a Production & Material Planner, a strategic figure who will be integrated into the Supply Chain function and will contribute to ensuring efficiency, operational continuity, and continuous improvement within a highly specialized production environment.

Work Location: Tubilux Pharma, Pomezia.

What you will do:

The resource will be responsible for the integrated planning of production and the replenishment of raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring the efficiency of factory flows and compliance with the strict regulatory standards of the pharmaceutical sector (GMP/cGMP).

The main objective of the position is to balance material availability and production capacity to maximize customer service, contain stock costs, and ensure continuous supply to the lines.

Main Responsibilities:

Production Planning (Master Scheduling & Shop Floor)

  • Develop and update short, medium, and long-term production plans based on demand and plant capacity constraints.
  • Monitor the progress of production orders, reallocating resources in case of machine downtime, batch deviations, or urgent needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions for the timely release of raw materials and finished batches.

Replenishment and Material Management (MRP & Inventory)

  • Manage the calculation of requirements (MRP) for raw materials, active ingredients, and excipients, defining purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Monitor supply lead times and the service quality of packaging and raw material suppliers.
  • Periodically check inventory levels, identifying slow-moving or expiring materials (shelf-life / expiry date management) to limit waste in compliance with GMP rules.

Position Objectives:

  • Improvement of OTIF (On-Time In-Full): Increase the accuracy and punctuality of deliveries to the final customer or distribution network.
  • Optimization of Rotations: Reduce the material rotation index and minimize inventory holding costs through targeted management of stock levels (Safety Stock, Reorder Point).

Production Continuity: Ensure optimal saturation of production lines and avoid the risk of stockouts of raw materials, active ingredients (APIs), and packaging materials.

The Profile We Are Looking For:

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Degree in Economics and Management or Management Engineering.
  • Previous experience (at least 3-5 years) in a planning role gained in companies in the Pharmaceutical / Chemical-Pharmaceutical sector.
  • ERP Software: Excellent knowledge of JD Edwards Enterprise One (MRP, Sales & Distribution, Shop Floor Management modules). In-depth knowledge of JDE is a highly preferential/recommended requirement.
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations, validation procedures, and batch traceability constraints typical of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Solid data analysis skills (advanced Office skills).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong orientation towards problem solving for managing unforeseen events on the lines or delivery delays.
  • Strong analytical skills for monitoring Supply Chain KPIs (OTIF, Days of Supply, Stock Turnover).
  • Teamwork aptitude and excellent communication skills for interacting with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Logistics.

What You Will Find in This Opportunity:

  • A stimulating, innovative, and quality-oriented work environment;
  • A central role for the functioning of the production site, with the opportunity to leverage your experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes;
  • An economic offer commensurate with experience and skills acquired, with an indicative gross annual salary ranging between 30,000 and 35,000 Euros.
