Production Engineer SRE

About the project We are looking for an experienced Production Engineering Specialist who will be responsible for the maintenance and development of critical transactional systems operating in a high-availability environment. The role combines areas of Production Support, SRE, and automation. We are looking for someone who can diagnose end-to-end production issues, understands the dependencies between the application, database, and infrastructure, and can effectively restore the stability of business-critical systems. This position is for individuals who thrive in a dynamic production environment, have experience in incident handling, and want to actively influence the reliability of platforms processing large volumes of transactions. Tasks Incident handling and resolution for production incidents. Analysis of problems and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Monitoring system stability, performance, and availability. Diagnosis of problems covering applications, databases, operating systems, and container environments. Participation in software version deployments and release management activities. Creation and development of automation supporting operational processes. Analysis of logs, metrics, and production data. Cooperation with development teams in identifying and eliminating problems. Proposing and implementing improvements to increase the reliability and efficiency of the environment. Participation in post-mortem activities and initiatives to improve service quality. Requirements Minimum 4 years of experience in Production Support, Application Support, SRE, Platform Engineering, or related areas. Experience in maintaining transactional systems, payment systems, or other mission-critical environments. Very good knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Experience working with production relational databases and the ability to analyze problems at the data and database query level. Good knowledge of Linux and proficient work in a terminal environment. Experience with Kubernetes in terms of monitoring, diagnostics, and application support. Ability to create and maintain automation scripts in Bash, Python, or similar technologies. Experience in analyzing production incidents, troubleshooting, and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Knowledge of monitoring and log analysis tools. Ability to identify performance issues and propose optimizations for applications, databases, or the production environment. Knowledge of CI/CD processes and participation in deployment processes. Practical approach to problem-solving and ability to act under time pressure. Very good knowledge of Polish and English. Openness to working from the Krakow office twice a week. Nice to have Experience in high-availability (HA) environments. Participation in automation, optimization, or platform reliability improvement initiatives. Experience working in accordance with Site Reliability Engineering practices.
