Product Owner for Agentic Twin Platform explore (m/f/d)

We are EXP Software GmbH: We are a team of around 25 software developers with heart, humor, and passion for technology. We are building explore, an agentic twin platform that helps companies map and automate complex processes through autonomous AI agents. Our product is growing, and with it, the demands on someone who can keep an overview: between what customers need, what management intends, and what the development team can realistically implement. You will build precisely this bridge. We are not looking for a process manager who shuffles tickets. We are looking for someone who truly understands explore, is enthusiastic about the product, and ensures with clarity and consistency that the right things are built in the right order.

Responsibilities

Product Vision & Roadmap

• You create and are responsible for the product backlog for explore: maintenance, prioritization, and continuous development in close coordination with management, customers, and the development team.
• You translate business goals and customer requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria, precise enough for the team and understandable enough for everyone else.
• You set clear priorities and justify them: What are we building next – and why?
• Together with management, you develop a medium-term product roadmap and keep it alive.
• You gain a deep understanding of the explore platform: agent logic, automation concepts, possibilities, and limitations, and bring impulses from the AI market directly into the product.

Team & Knowledge Transfer

• You have regular conversations with existing customers, understand their work processes, and recognize which requirements are truly important and which are just loud.
• You translate customer feedback, support insights, and market observations into concrete product decisions.
• You are the central point of contact for incoming requirements, ensuring that nothing is lost, everything is evaluated, and decisions are understandable.
• You naturally use AI tools in your own work: for research, documentation, analysis, prioritization, and automation.

Collaboration & Management

• You work closely with our developers on a daily basis: sprint planning, refinements, reviews; you are present and contribute content.
• You answer the team's questions quickly and decisively, accept results, and ensure they meet the defined acceptance criteria.
• You understand technical contexts well enough to make sensible trade-offs between effort and benefit.
• You plan and conduct demos for customers and stakeholders, and execute them yourself directly within the product.

Qualifications

• You have several years of experience as a Product Owner or in a comparable role in the software or tech environment and know how agile product development works in practice.
• A Product Owner certification is desirable, but not a must.
• You have a solid understanding of software development and AI concepts. A computer science degree or training as an IT specialist is desirable, but not mandatory. The crucial factor is that you can communicate with the development team at eye level.
• You understand how LLMs, agents, and automation systems work; not necessarily at a code level, but conceptually secure enough to base product decisions on them.
• You can listen well, summarize precisely, and formulate requirements so that the team can implement them directly.
• You work in a structured manner, prioritize clearly, and do not lose sight of things even with many parallel topics.
• You communicate confidently at all levels: with customers, developers, and management alike, using the appropriate approach for each.
• Very good German language skills are a prerequisite; English is a matter of course in a technical context.
• We are looking for someone who is primarily on-site. At least 3 out of 5 days in our office in Pfaffenhofen. Remote days are naturally possible and part of our way of working.
