Job description

Location: Rennes (Gare offices)

Pace: On-site 3 days/week + remote work

Compensation: Package €45k - €60k depending on profile

Contract: Permanent

Travel: approximately 2 trips/month in France and Europe

The Company

Join an innovative company specializing in B2B smart mobility SaaS solutions, experiencing strong growth, based in Rennes and comprising around forty employees. PYSAE develops software to make public transport more efficient and attractive. We support over 100 clients, including major operators like Transdev, Keolis, and RATP, and equip nearly 10,000 buses in mainland France, overseas territories, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.

Your Mission

You will join the Product team to lead the development of innovative solutions, aiming to simplify the lives of public transport network operators. From understanding field needs to monitoring deliveries with the technical team, you are the central link between users, the business, and developers.

Your profile has a dual role: Product Manager, and Design Specialist within the team. You will dedicate 30% to 50% of your time to guiding the evolution of our applications' user experience: you will manage the life of our design system, ensure the consistency and quality of our interfaces, and support the evolution of our applications' user journeys. The rest of your time will be dedicated to Product topics, as the team's PM.

This role is for an autonomous and proactive individual who enjoys identifying problems at their source, with clients and in the field, as much as someone capable of translating them into clear product decisions and simple, effective interfaces.

Our design, product design, specification, and development processes are undergoing profound transformation, driven by the integration of AI, currently primarily Claude. This evolution has already significantly accelerated our velocity across several dimensions. We have a solid design system and Claude skills that enable the team to produce consistent interfaces, but they require maintenance, enrichment, and challenging by true design expertise. You will join a team actively experimenting with these new ways of working and expects its members to embrace them with curiosity and pragmatism.

Your Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Meet with clients and users to deeply understand their challenges. Identify opportunities for improvement beyond explicit requests.

  • Translate field insights into actionable specifications for the technical team. Work daily with developers to ensure the proper execution of ongoing projects. Define the vision, objectives, and success criteria for each project.

  • Take charge of the lifecycle of multiple product initiatives in parallel, from market strategy research and the discovery phase to market launch.

  • Arbitrate priorities with the rest of the team, in line with PYSAE's strategy.

  • Be the primary product contact person for your scope, for internal and external stakeholders.

Design & User Experience (30% to 50% of the role)

  • Maintain and evolve our design system (components, principles, documentation) to ensure consistency across all our applications.

  • Manage and improve the Claude AI design skills, in conjunction with the team, so that PMs and front-end developers can produce quality interfaces autonomously.

  • Design user journeys and workflows for new applications and redesigns, with particular attention to ergonomics.

  • Review and challenge interfaces produced by the team, ensuring consistency and quality standards.

  • When time permits, conduct UX studies with users (interviews, usability tests, field observations).

Your Profile

  • Fluent English; Italian is a plus.

  • 4 to 8 years of cumulative experience in a product and/or design role. Profile and motivation matter more than years.

  • Strong sensitivity to ergonomics, user workflows, and interface quality and maintainability, ideally with concrete achievements to share (design system, application redesign, complex journeys...).

  • Comfortable in a B2B SaaS environment, with a good understanding of technical challenges without necessarily coding.

  • Experience in launching products or significant redesigns, ideally in a high-growth context.

  • Comfortable seeking information directly in the field, with clients; user research experience is a plus.

  • Autonomous in organization, rigorous in follow-up, capable of managing multiple subjects in parallel without losing focus.

  • Adaptable: you know how to evolve your priorities without becoming destabilized. In an agile structure where roles are not fixed, you willingly contribute beyond your scope (events, responses to tenders, innovation funding applications).

  • Curious, pedagogical, a good communicator with both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Comfortable with AI as a daily work tool: open to experimenting with new AI-assisted practices (design, specs, user research...); prior experience with these tools is a plus.
