Job description
Location: Rennes (Station) or Paris (14th arrondissement)
Rhythm: On-site 3 days/week + remote work
Compensation: Package €45k - €60k depending on profile
Contract: Permanent (CDI)
Travel: expected 2 times/month in France and Europe
The Company
Join an innovative company specializing in intelligent mobility B2B SaaS solutions, experiencing strong growth, based in Rennes and composed of around forty employees. PYSAE develops software to make public transport more efficient and attractive. We support over 100 clients, including major operators like Transdev, Keolis, and RATP, and equip nearly 10,000 buses in mainland France, overseas departments and territories, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
Your Mission
You will join the Product team to lead the development of innovative solutions, aimed at simplifying the lives of public transport network operators. From discovering field needs to monitoring deliveries with the technical team, you are the common thread between users, the business, and developers.
You come from the public transport world: you have worked for an operator or a organizing authority, you know the daily operations of service departments, schedule construction, dispatching, and you have used tools like a real-time passenger information system (SAEIV) on a daily basis. You know what works in the field, what frustrates teams, and what truly improves the lives of a driver, a dispatcher, or a schedule manager.
At PYSAE, you will put this knowledge to work in building our products. You are the voice of the operators within the team: you translate their realities into clear and well-prioritized product decisions, and you disseminate business knowledge throughout the company (product, tech, sales, deployment, support) so that everyone better understands our clients' use cases.
If you have never been a Product Manager, it is not an obstacle: we will train you in the role. What we are looking for above all is solid business knowledge, genuine curiosity for technology, and the desire to build useful tools for your former colleagues.
Our processes for conception, product design, specification, and development are undergoing profound transformation, driven by the integration of AI, primarily Claude at present. This evolution has already significantly accelerated our velocity on several dimensions. You are joining a team that actively experiments with these new working methods and expects its members to embrace them with curiosity and pragmatism.
Your Responsibilities
Business Expertise & Knowledge Dissemination
Be the internal referent on the functioning of a public transport network: operations, planning, dispatching, passenger information
Share this knowledge with all teams (internal training, workshops, documentation, support for sales and deployment teams)
Challenge product choices based on real operator usage
Discovery & Field Understanding
Meet with clients and users to deeply understand their challenges
Translate field learnings into actionable specifications for the technical team
Identify improvement opportunities beyond explicit requests
Solution Design & Management
Take ownership of the product initiative lifecycle, from the discovery phase to market launch
Define the objectives and success criteria for each evolution or new application
Arbitrate priorities in line with PYSAE's platform strategy
Collaboration & Monitoring
Work daily with developers to ensure the proper execution of ongoing projects
Facilitate product rituals, write clear specifications, challenge technical choices when necessary
Be the primary product contact for internal and external stakeholders
Your Profile
Significant experience in public transport network operations (operator, organizing authority, or equivalent), ideally in planning, service management, dispatching, or operations roles
Experience using SAEIV tools or equivalent operational systems as a user
Product Manager experience is not required: we will train you. Prior experience in IT projects, requirements gathering, or tool support is a plus
Strong interest in computer tools and the tech world, with a desire to contribute to building solutions for your former colleagues
Pedagogical, capable of transmitting your business knowledge to diverse audiences
Autonomous in organization, rigorous in follow-up, capable of managing multiple subjects in parallel
Adaptable: you can adjust your priorities without becoming destabilized. In an agile structure where roles are not fixed, you willingly contribute beyond your scope (events, tender responses, innovation funding applications)
Curious, good communicator with both technical and business stakeholders
Comfortable with AI as a daily work tool: open to experimenting with new AI-assisted practices (specs, needs analysis, documentation...); prior experience with these tools is a plus
Professional English appreciated; Italian is a plus
