The Role

As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a variety of product development projects for clients which span multiple engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for the technical oversight and delivery of key project milestones, ensuring client and product success. You will work closely with a project coordinator to lead and task project teams and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed throughout the entire product development life cycle.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing projects effectively by adhering to standards of scope, budget, and timeframes
• Building and maintaining relationships with customers through regular, open communication
• Estimating and developing project plans according to customer requirements
• Monitoring project progress continuously and communicating clear updates on milestones and deliverables to stakeholders
• Communicating proactively to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements
• Analysing project plans and providing actionable feedback to management
• Reviewing and managing proposed scope changes on project plans
• Overseeing project purchasing of resources and materials and negotiating with vendors
• Anticipating details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news

About You

• An Australian citizen, permanent resident or holding a working visa
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project management or product lead role
• Extensive leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 & 9001 regulatory requirements
• Understanding of a variety of production/manufacturing processes
• Experience in communicating with and evaluating local and offshore suppliers
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
