Job description

Why LPE Immobilien?

  • Property management is the most underestimated profession in Germany: No other profession has such a direct impact on how people live. Nevertheless, property managers are still considered accountants with a key ring. We want to change that, and software is one of our central levers for this.
  • With lpeOS, we build the systems we work with every day: the customer portal for our owners, AI agents that independently take on tasks, and the property manager cockpit as our property managers' work environment. We are digitalizing our own processes to make the work of our property managers a little better every day, with the ambition to revolutionize the industry.
  • This is a rare starting point for design: Hardly any industry has been overlooked by modern software for so long. No one has ever seriously designed for these professions. You would be the first design person in our new product team and would help build the design system and design process.

What awaits you here – Your Tasks

  • We work as a team of Product Engineers, some more technical, some more design-oriented. You would be the most design-oriented person, but work in the same repository and rhythm as everyone else. What you design is usually live within a few weeks.
  • You are responsible for the entire design process from start to finish: You conduct interviews with property managers and owners, condense the findings into concepts, and design interfaces for the customer portal and property manager cockpit from them. Your colleagues and customers are directly accessible, and you receive feedback quickly and directly.
  • Your designs don't stay in Figma: With AI-powered development (React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui), you bring them into the frontend yourself and implement partial features, sometimes even entire features, together with the team. You don't have to be a programmer, but you want your work to end up in the product, and you'll get your hands dirty to make it happen.
  • A special area is design for AI agents: You design interaction patterns for workflows where agents take on tasks. Where does the user need control, where does the user need transparency? Patterns for which there are hardly any precedents.

What you should bring

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in product design, preferably with B2B software or complex workflows.
  • A portfolio with 2 to 3 case studies showing your process from user question to delivered interface: Your way of thinking interests us more than the number of screens.
  • Proficient use of Figma, from wireframes to clickable prototypes to component libraries.
  • Experience with qualitative research: conducting interviews, condensing findings, testing assumptions with usability tests.
  • A good sense for interaction design and information architecture in data-rich applications.
  • Good to very good practical experience with AI-powered development (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, v0): You implement partial features or entire features into the code yourself.
  • Solid fundamentals in HTML and CSS, JavaScript is a plus.
  • German language skills at least at B2 level.
You don't meet all the criteria? Apply anyway. Talent and learning curve count more with us than years on your CV.
What we offer you

  • A rare starting position. We are building software for a business model that already works, and we know it's needed. You will experience firsthand how an entire industry is reinventing itself and actively shape that process.
  • Real impact. Everything you design is directly used by our property managers, owners, and customers.
  • Get to know an industry from the inside. The real estate industry is one of the largest markets in Germany and is just at the beginning of its digitalization. You will get to know it where the decisions are made.
  • Direct collaboration with product owners. Short paths, quick decisions, and someone who takes time for your questions.
  • Mentoring and further development. We openly and regularly discuss where you want to develop, towards UX engineering or product ownership. Mentoring is possible in all directions with us.
  • Honest feedback. Immediately and in both directions.
  • The right tools. Premium hardware, cloud-based tools, up-to-date AI tooling, paperless. If you lack something to work better, you will get it.
  • Perspective. This position is built to grow with you and with lpeOS.
