Product Design Engineer - Crushers

As a Product Design Engineer specializing in the reverse engineering of crusher wear parts, you will be at the forefront of leveraging advanced scanning technology and CAD modeling to address complex challenges in mineral processing. Your role will involve collaborating with field teams and technical experts to interpret point cloud data, transforming raw scans of worn components into precise 3D models. These 3D models are not only used for recreating parts but also serve as the basis for analyzing wear patterns, identifying potential failure points, and optimizing crusher performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that improve the efficiency and reliability of our crushing equipment. Your expertise in product design and engineering will be instrumental in driving business growth through the development of new products and services. Key responsibilities include: • Collaborating with field teams and technical experts to interpret point cloud data and transform raw scans into precise 3D models. • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of crusher wear parts, including their design, functionality, and potential failure points. • Analyzing wear patterns and identifying potential failure points to optimize crusher performance. • Designing and developing innovative solutions that improve the efficiency and reliability of our crushing equipment. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new products and services that drive business growth. • Staying up-to-date with advancements in scanning technology, CAD modeling, and other relevant tools and techniques. • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments. • Participating in design reviews and providing input on the feasibility and practicality of new designs. • Collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure that designed products meet quality and performance standards. • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes as needed. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in product design engineering, preferably with a focus on reverse engineering and CAD modeling. • Strong understanding of crusher wear parts, including their design, functionality, and potential failure points. • Experience working with point cloud data and transforming raw scans into precise 3D models. • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. • Familiarity with scanning technology, including structured light scanning and photogrammetry. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
