Product Assurance Manager – Space Hardware / Mechanics (m/f/d)

A medium-sized company in the European space sector, developing and manufacturing large deployable reflector and antenna systems for ESA missions. With 51-100 employees and locations in Garching and Eching, the company operates internationally and relies on innovative space hardware.

Your Tasks

• Design, implementation, and continuous updating of PA/QA processes according to ECSS/ESA & ISO standards
• Ensuring complete, up-to-date, and easily accessible documentation for all stakeholders
• Organization of product and quality assurance roles within projects
• Coordination with project managers, systems engineers, and work package managers for the integration of quality throughout the lifecycle
• Leadership and further development of the project PA/QA team, including goal definition and performance monitoring
• Establishment, monitoring, and reporting of KPIs, audits, trend analyses, and cost-of-quality metrics
• Monthly reporting and presentation of PA/QA status directly to the CEO

Your Profile

• At least 10 years of product assurance experience in European space hardware
• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of ESA/ECSS standards and ISO 9001 (ISO 9100 desirable)
• Proven delivery of work packages within time and budget constraints
• Proficient in quality tools (FMEA, 8D, KPI dashboards)
• Excellent English skills (C1), German is an advantage

What doesn't work here

• Job hoppers – frequent changes are a dealbreaker
• Less than 10 years of experience in Space PA – insufficient
• No practical ECSS implementation – missing core competency
• Focus solely on electronics/EEE without mechanical space hardware – not a fit
• Inability to work on-site in Eching – immediate disqualification
