Procurement Specialist

You will work from our client's site in Lommel, where glass packaging is produced, stored, and distributed.

• Vendor Management: select, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality purchases. Negotiate contracts and delivery terms independently or with the Procurement Manager;
• Analyses & Follow-up: monitor market trends and identify price and availability risks. Analyze stock levels and align them with production needs;
• Compliance & Reporting: ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations. Maintain accurate administration for audits and reports to management;
• Risk Management: identify risks in the supply chain and report them proactively;
• Sustainability & Collaboration: actively contribute to sustainable procurement and foster collaboration with production, finance, and logistics to align procurement strategies with business goals.

For the position of Procurement Specialist at our client in Lommel, we are looking for a candidate who recognizes themselves in the following criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent by experience;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a continuous manufacturing environment;
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
• Experience with procurement software and ERP systems such as SAP (R3 or S/4HANA), including the PtP process;
• Strong analytical ability for data analysis to support purchasing decisions;
• Excellent communication skills, including intercultural sensitivity;
• Skilled in negotiations with various suppliers;
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and logistical processes within procurement;
• Strong organizational skills in managing multiple projects within deadlines.
