Key Responsibilities

• Designing and managing procurement, storage and distribution practices, and setting the operational guidelines that support efficient purchasing and product flow for the full range of products offered by the business.
• Creating and implementing inventory plans that keep stock levels aligned with demand while minimising costs and reducing the risk of wastage, especially for items with a limited shelf life.
• Securing agreements with growers, manufacturers, wholesalers and logistics providers that meet expectations for product quality, reliability, delivery timing and competitive pricing.
• Reviewing storage methods and monitoring inventory systems to ensure product quality is maintained and stock levels remain appropriate for upcoming orders and seasonal fluctuations.
• Running tracking systems that record all inward and outward movement of supplies and finished products and ensuring replenishment occurs at suitable intervals based on demand forecasts.
• Working closely with internal teams and customer facing departments to coordinate outbound orders and ensure delivery and transport arrangements meet client requirements.
• Overseeing the documentation and record keeping associated with purchasing, storage, stock handling and distribution to maintain full transparency across the procurement cycle.
• Supervising staff involved in procurement, storage, packing and dispatch functions and assessing their performance to ensure compliance with quality and efficiency standards.
• Ensuring that customers receive high quality products and service through strong oversight of procurement, stock management and distribution processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is desirable. However, substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar supply chain or purchasing role
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Sound understanding of procurement best practices and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in inventory control, cost analysis, and budgeting
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyse supply trends and optimise sourcing strategies
• Experience with logistics coordination and stock management systems
