Procurement Clerk
Job description
RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Procurement Clerk to join our client, a well-established company in Cape Town. The Procurement Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement team by managing purchasing processes, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services.
Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services to meet company needs
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices, and other procurement data
- Support the procurement team in evaluating supplier performance and negotiating contracts
- Coordinate with various departments to identify procurement requirements and ensure timely delivery
- Communicate with suppliers to manage orders and resolve any issues
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management and forecasting
- Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies
- Assist in preparing reports on procurement activities and expenditures
- Proven experience as a Procurement Clerk or in a similar role
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Tertiary qualification in procurement, business administration, or a related field is an advantage
- Salary: negotiable
