Process Plant Engineer

Job Title: Process Plant Engineer Location: Northern Cape, South Africa Industry: Mining RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Plant Engineer to join their team in the Northern Cape region of South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of our process plant, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing plant performance to maximize production efficiency. Responsibilities: * Oversee the day-to-day operation of the process plant, including crushing, screening, milling, flotation, and other mineral processing circuits. * Develop and implement plant operating procedures and maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. * Monitor plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to increase production efficiency and reduce operating costs. * Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment and infrastructure to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. * Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems, working closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime. * Manage and supervise a team of plant operators and maintenance personnel, providing training and guidance as needed. * Prepare and maintain accurate records of plant operations, including production data, maintenance logs, and safety reports. * Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, geology, and environmental, to ensure alignment of goals and objectives. * Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for plant improvement. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field. * Proven experience in process plant engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. * Strong knowledge of mineral processing techniques, including crushing, screening, milling, flotation, and other related processes. * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong leadership and management skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. * Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations. * Experience with plant optimization and process improvement initiatives. * Experience with budgeting and cost control. * South African citizen or permanent resident.
