We are looking for a Process Engineer - Basel ​ The ideal candidate for this position holds an academic degree and at least three years of professional experience in Downstream or Upstream Processing of biotechnologically produced products. Additionally, at least two years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or development as well as routine work in a cGMP-regulated environment are required. General Information - Start date: asap - Latest possible start date: 01.02.2026 - Planned duration: until 30.09.2026 - Extension: unlikely, unless for project extension - Work location: Basel - Workload: 100% - Home Office: possible after consultation, presence required - Team size: 15-25 people - Department: Drug Substance Internal and External Manufacturing (MMN) - Working hours: Standard - GMP-relevant / Product access: Yes Tasks & Responsibilities - Technical and scientific support (1st & 2nd Line Support) to ensure stable and efficient manufacturing processes in the GMP environment - Participation in the on-call duty (Pikett) as 1st- and 2nd-Level-Support for Manufacturing - Planning and coordination of troubleshooting activities, including cause analyses in close cooperation with Manufacturing Value Streams, Quality, and Support Units - Handling planned and unplanned events according to GMP guidelines - Review and approval of electronic batch records for clinical and commercial products (MES-based Batch Record Review) - Working according to the requirements of our internal quality system and cGMP regulations of health authorities - Leadership or support of optimization projects and the introduction of new technologies - Representation of the site in global network initiatives and communities - Planning, moderation, documentation, and updating of quality risk assessments to identify and reduce GMP compliance risks - Process responsibility as an interface between Manufacturing and MSAT - Creation and presentation of concepts, documents, and assessments during GMP audits and inspections Must Haves - Academic degree in natural or engineering sciences; preferably biotechnology or bio-process technology - At least 3-5 years of experience in Downstream and/or Upstream Processing of biotechnological products ***** - At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical development or manufacturing ***** - Proven experience in a cGMP-regulated environment ***** - Advantageous: practical experience in Large Molecules Drug Substance manufacturing processes (steel or single-use technology) *** - Advantageous: experience in technology transfer and quality risk management (QRM) ** - Team-oriented and self-reliant personality with high personal responsibility - Excellent communication skills in local and global interfaces - Enjoyment of collaboration in international teams - Excellent German language skills in writing and speaking (local working language) - Outstanding English language skills in writing and speaking ​ Unhappy, underutilized or ready to discover something new?
