Job Description

Bring processes, responsibilities, and information together in one clear whole

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) is constantly evolving. New tasks, changing work methods, and developments in information provision and ICT require clear processes and defined responsibilities. Especially in a large organization, it is important that employees know how processes work, who is responsible for what, and how different parts are interconnected.

As a KMar Process Manager, you will help make that structure visible. You will set frameworks for process descriptions, visualize the coherence between business operations, information provision, and ICT, and work on a clear task and mandate structure.

What you document has a direct impact on the organization. Many processes are largely held in the minds of employees. You will ensure that this knowledge is documented and available, so that new colleagues also understand where they fit into the bigger picture.

Do you get energized by unraveling complex processes, bringing structure, and continuously improving an organization in motion? Then read on quickly.

What will you do?

As a Process Manager, you will work on the design and coherence of business processes within the KMar. You will draft strategic process descriptions, develop frameworks for how processes are described, and ensure a uniform working method within the organization.

When a process is new or changes, you will map out the steps, roles, responsibilities, and their interdependencies. You will ensure that processes are documented and published uniformly in the knowledge management system. This creates an overview and helps employees understand how their work contributes to a larger process.

You look beyond a single process. From the business operations architecture, you will visualize the connection between business operations, information provision (IV), and information and communication technology (ICT). You will work on the process landscape map, among other things, and investigate which information and systems support processes. This way, you make complex situations clear and help the organization better substantiate choices about the design of business operations.

In addition, you will work on the task and mandate structure of the KMar. You will draft the sub-task and mandate decree and manage the signature register, which records financial and material signing authorities. This contributes to clarity regarding tasks, responsibilities, and authorities within the organization.

You will participate in various meetings on process management and architecture and collaborate with, among others, the National Tactical Command (LTC), the Training and Education Center (OTC), and colleagues from business operations, information provision, and ICT. In the periodic process meeting, you will discuss progress, bottlenecks, and priorities regarding process descriptions. You will also advise on possibilities to design processes better or smarter. The responsibility for actual process improvement remains with the process owner; you provide insight, set frameworks, and advise.

Job Requirements

What energizes you?

You enjoy bringing structure to subjects that can be complex or fragmented for others. You get energized by unraveling processes, making responsibilities visible, and creating an overview.

The combination of organization, information, and systems appeals to you. You look not only at how a process works today but also at its coherence with other processes and at the information and ICT needed to effectively support the organization.

You enjoy working with a high degree of independence. You can delve into a file, investigate how things precisely work, and then come up with clear advice or a proposal. At the same time, you actively seek collaboration with your direct colleagues and various departments within the KMar and the Ministry of Defence.
