Job description
Maximum Term – 2 years ASX & TSX Listed Company Key responsibilities include leading TSF operations and projects, ensuring compliance and risk management, monitoring tailings performance and providing technical guidance and stakeholder support. The Role The role of the Principal TSF Engineer is to provide technical support for the design, operations, construction, maintenance, monitoring and compliance activities to support the ongoing development of the tailings storage facilities and associated infrastructure. This role will involve significant on-site presence and potentially international travel. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the technical aspects of TSF operations and projects, including feasibility studies, detailed design, construction oversight, and operational management. * Ensure all TSF activities comply with relevant national and international regulations, standards, and company policies. * Implement and manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for TSFs. * Monitor the performance of TSFs, including dam stability, water balance, and environmental parameters, and implement corrective actions as necessary. * Provide expert technical guidance and advice to project teams, operations personnel, and management. * Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and compliance. * Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in TSF engineering and management. * Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff. * Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation. Qualifications and Experience: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum of 10 years of experience in tailings storage facility (TSF) design, construction, and operations. * Proven experience in leading complex TSF projects. * Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and hydrogeology relevant to TSFs. * Experience with relevant TSF design software and monitoring technologies. * Knowledge of international standards and guidelines for TSF management (e.g., GISTM). * Excellent understanding of risk management principles and their application to TSFs. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Willingness to undertake significant on-site work and travel internationally.
