Principal Product Manager Claims (w/m/d/x)

Full Time Senior

Job description

We Expected

As Principal Product Manager Claims (w/m/d/x), you will take on the technical and strategic responsibility for one of our platform's most business-critical areas: Claims Processing (Claims). You will not only design individual features, but shape long-term product strategy, system architecture, and decision-making logic around claims processing for insurers.

Specifically:

  • Product Strategy & Ownership: You develop a sustainable product strategy for the Claims area, take ownership of large product initiatives end-to-end, and make long-term architectural and process decisions that are both regulatory and economically viable.
  • Prioritization & Methodology: You prioritize strategic themes over several quarters and apply Product Management methods (e.g. PRDs, Story Mapping, Continuous Discovery, Opportunity Solution Trees, and common prioritization frameworks) deliberately and data-driven to balance business goals, technical feasibility, and operational excellence.
  • Senior Level Discovery & Business Decisions: You conduct complex discovery processes independently – including user research with claims experts, departments, and operational teams – lead informed product decisions, and test these using business cases (e.g. automation rate vs. process costs) and economic analyses.
  • Technical Design & Expert Sparring: You work closely with Engineering on architecture, system design, interfaces, data models, and workflows, make informed decisions about scalability, maintainability, and domain-driven architecture, and serve as an expert sparring partner for Senior PMs, Engineering Leads, and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in Product Management, with a significant portion in the insurance industry, ideally with a clear focus on claims / claims processing.
  • Deep Domain Expertise: A deep understanding of claims processes, claims processing, automation, inspection rules, exceptional cases, and operational realities in everyday insurance life.
  • Strategic Thinking & Decision-Making Strength: Proven experience in long-term product planning, making heavy prioritization decisions, and consciously taking trade-offs, ideally with products with at least 1 million ARR.
  • Technical Understanding: A very good understanding of modern software architectures, APIs, workflows, and data models; the ability to evaluate technical concepts and discuss them on equal terms with Engineering. Technical background is an advantage.
  • Communication: Very good German and English skills (at least C1) in writing and speaking.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A competitive salary package ranging from 90,000 to 110,000 EUR gross per year.
  • A remote-friendly work model with occasional travel to our Berlin office.
  • 30 days of annual leave, plus we give you half a day off on December 24th and 31st.
  • A personal development budget of at least 500 EUR, which we will invest together in your further development.
  • Exciting opportunities for internal development thanks to our fixed role-development model, regular feedback cycles, and performance reviews.
  • A company contribution to Urban Sports Club membership to support your work-life balance.
  • A strongly subsidized occupational pension plan, with which we will jointly optimize for your future.
  • A VSOP program, with which you as an employee can additionally benefit from the company's success.
  • We offer you modern hardware, whether Windows or iOS – you decide yourself.
  • Weekly company lunches and a fully stocked snack bar are available to satisfy your hunger between meals.
  • We invite you three times a year to our Homecoming Week, either in Berlin or at off-site locations in nature / warmer countries.
  • As part of a dynamic and motivated team of experts, you will directly benefit from the knowledge of your colleagues, as teamwork and mutual support are an essential part of our culture.
