Principal Engineer/Senior Principal Engineer, Cloud and Platform Engineering

OVERVIEW DSTA’s Cloud and Platform Engineering team designs, builds and operates secure, scalable and resilient platform products and services that support MINDEF/SAF’s digital systems. We are seeking a Principal Engineer with strong technical depth to drive the architecture, engineering and operations of platform capabilities across infrastructure, application and developer platform domains. These may span technical areas such as infrastructure, network, identity, automation, observability, backup and recovery, data analytics, security, compliance, scalability, reliability, performance, availability, and maintainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, containerization, orchestration, service mesh, and DevOps practices. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of DSTA’s Cloud and Platform Engineering team. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and operating cloud-based platforms that meet MINDEF/SAF’s requirements. This includes developing and maintaining technical documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
