About the Role (your why) The bottleneck in modern software delivery is no longer writing code — it’s verifying that code works. As Principal Engineer – QA and Automation , you will own the quality architecture for a platform where AI agents generate a significant and growing share of production code. This role requires a deep understanding of software development, testing, and automation principles, as well as experience in designing and implementing test frameworks, tools, and methodologies to ensure high-quality software delivery. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the quality architecture for our platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing needs, and collaborating with engineers to develop automated tests that meet the needs of our AI-generated code. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of software development at Datacom, leveraging your expertise in QA and automation to drive innovation and growth. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain a comprehensive quality architecture for our platform, ensuring high-quality software delivery through automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). • Design and implement test frameworks, tools, and methodologies that meet the needs of our AI-generated code, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing needs. • Collaborate with engineers to develop automated tests that meet the needs of our platform, leveraging your expertise in QA and automation to drive innovation and growth. • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their testing needs and priorities, developing solutions that meet those needs. • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering teams, product owners, and project managers. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software development, testing, and automation, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and growth at Datacom. What You'll Need: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, and automation, with a focus on QA and automation principles. • Strong understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies. • Experience designing and implementing test frameworks, tools, and methodologies to ensure high-quality software delivery. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
