Principal Engineer (HV Cable)

Job Description Principal Engineer (HV Cable) is responsible for reviewing, assessing, and approving HV Plant design submissions for National Grid and/or Distribution Network Operator (DNO) projects. This role ensures that designs for substations, transformers, switchgear, and other HV infrastructure comply with National Grid / DNO engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will work closely with National Grid / DNO, Contractors, interns, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications, design codes, and relevant regulations. This role also involves providing technical guidance and support to internal teams, contractors, and external partners. Additionally, the Principal Engineer (HV Cable) will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of HV Plant designs, modifications, and upgrades, as well as ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with National Grid / DNO requirements.
