The Central Hawkes Bay District Council is recruiting a Principal Contract and Asset Manager to lead and support the management of its key land transport contracts and assets. This role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, guidance and oversight to ensure effective and efficient management of the district's road network. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing strategies for the management of the district's road network • Providing technical advice and guidance on contract and asset management matters • Leading and managing a team of professionals in the delivery of road network projects and services • Collaborating with other council departments to ensure effective integration of road network activities with broader council objectives • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and community groups. The ideal candidate will have: • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field • Significant experience in contract and asset management, preferably in a local government setting • Strong leadership and management skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities • Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations.
