As the Principal BI Developer, you will:

• Lead the design and development of advanced Power BI dashboards, models, and visualisations that support strategic and operational decision‑making.
• Shape business intelligence roadmap and champion best practice BI standards, governance, and data quality.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines for BI solutions and stay ahead of Microsoft’s evolving Power BI capabilities.
• Guide and mentor BI developers, contributing to a centre of excellence for analytics across the organisation.
• Partner with data engineers to ensure alignment with our enterprise data lake and data strategy.
• Support organisational adoption of self‑service BI through training, workshops, and user engagement.
• Build strong relationships across and with external agencies in the education sector.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and government policy requirements.

This is a senior role where your expertise, leadership, and curiosity will directly influence how the organisation uses data to improve outcomes for learners.

• Advanced Power BI experience (visualisation, DAX, modelling, governance, ETL).
• Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of database structures and data modelling.
• Experience with Qlik Sense (intermediate level).
• Excellent data storytelling and UX‑focused visualisation skills.
• Experience working in agile environments.
• The ability to engage confidently with business users and translate needs into actionable insights.
• A collaborative mindset, strong customer focus, and the ability to lead through influence.
• A tertiary qualification in computer science or a related discipline.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Experience with JavaScript or design thinking is a bonus.
