KS1 Class Teacher Maternity Cover

Location: Southampton

Start Date: February 2026

Contract: 5 days per week, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM-

Pay: Paid to scale (£168 – £233 per day)

About the Role:

An average sized Primary School within Southampton is seeking an experienced KS1 teacher starting January February 2026. This is a role with full class teacher responsibilities, initially until the end of the academic year but could be extended.

You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing a Year 1 class, working closely with a year group partner and a part-time LSA. The role includes full teaching responsibilities and the opportunity to run an after-school club of your choosing.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified and experienced KS1 Teacher
  • Confident in managing classroom routines and expectations.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Skilled in adapting teaching to meet a range of pupil needs, including SEND

Requirements

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Compliance with DfE and Safer Recruitment standards.
