Estimator / Cost Engineer - Furniture Contract - Milan

IMS Srl, an engineering consulting company, is seeking for a project in collaboration with an important partner company operating in the Furniture Contract sector, an Estimator to be integrated into the team dedicated to the development of custom and standard projects for national and international clients.

The role will involve the technical-economic analysis of tender requests and the definition of project costs, collaborating with the technical office, suppliers, and production partners to ensure the correct evaluation of the proposed furniture solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

The resource, reporting directly to the Project Manager/Commercial Manager, will be responsible for:

• Analyzing specifications, client requests, technical drawings, and project details for the preparation of economic offers.
• Developing cost estimates and quotes related to standard and custom furniture supplies for contract projects.
• Evaluating materials, finishes, special processing, and construction solutions based on project specifications.
• Liaising with suppliers, furniture brands, and carpentry workshops to gather quotes and technical information.
• Analyzing production, procurement, logistics, and installation costs for the definition of the economic offer.
• Verifying the technical compliance of products with applicable regulations and project requirements.
• Supporting the sales team in identifying alternative solutions and value engineering activities.
• Collaborating with the technical office and project management in evaluating variants and modifications requested by the client.
• Updating cost databases, price lists, and economic benchmarks related to products and processing.
• Supporting the handover phase between the sales office and the operational team after the project award.

Requirements:

• Technical Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related fields.
• Previous experience of at least 3 years in the role of Estimator, Cost Engineer, or Cost Controller in the Furniture Contract sector.
• Knowledge of the standard and custom furniture market.
• Knowledge of suppliers, brands in the furniture sector, and production facilities such as carpentry workshops and specialized laboratories.
• Knowledge of the main construction techniques and materials used in the furniture sector.
• Familiarity with technical regulations applicable to the sector, including safety requirements, fire resistance, and product certifications.
• Excellent ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of the English language is a plus.
