Job description

About Preventicus

We are already creating tomorrow's health solutions today. At Preventicus, we design mobile and web products for heart health, used by numerous health insurance companies. Our users range from health-conscious individuals aged 45 and over to older patients, which is why accessibility is central to us. As an intern, you will work closely with our UX Manager, the Product Owner, and the developers.

Starting immediately | 2-6 months | Jena/hybrid | Mandatory internship as part of your studies

Your Responsibilities

  • Research: You will conduct interviews and usability tests with real users, analyze pain points, and derive requirements for adjustments and new feature ideas.

  • Conception: You will create user flows and scenarios for new product features.

  • Design & Prototyping: You will create wireframes, UI designs, and clickable prototypes in Figma or with AI tools, and document how the designs should be implemented accessibly.

  • Design System: You will help further develop our design guidelines, with a focus on accessibility from the outset.

  • Design QA & Accessibility: You will check if our designs have been correctly implemented in apps and web products, including regarding contrasts, font sizes, screen reader compatibility, and touch targets.

What you bring

  • Ongoing design studies with a mandatory internship, e.g., Interface Design, Digital Design, Media Design, or similar.

  • Initial UX/UI projects and experience with user research, e.g., from your studies.

  • Proficient in Figma.

  • User-centered thinking, interest in health topics, and a passion for design that excludes no one.

  • Very good German language skills, as our users and tests are predominantly German-speaking.

What we offer you

  • Insight into the exciting world of UI/UX design development.

  • A dedicated mentor and full integration into the product development team.

  • Live accessible design for medical products: from concept to finished app – rare expertise for your resume.

  • Room for your own ideas, up to your own project.

  • Hybrid working: Onboarding in Jena, then remote with occasional team days on-site.

  • Internship with the possibility of a thesis or working student position.

  • Starting immediately, for at least 2 months.

A highly motivated, internationally experienced team that is passionate about our shared vision looks forward to welcoming you!

Send us your resume and, if possible, one or two projects you have designed.

We do not need a cover letter – a few sentences about why this topic appeals to you are sufficient.

Please also state your desired start date and the required internship duration according to your study regulations.
