Our goal is to equip Orthopedic technicians with user-friendly software that allows them to create medical aids from 3D scans – efficiently, sustainably and individually.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motivated Praktikant*in for Frontend & UX Design (m/w/d).

The internship can start immediately or be adapted to your study requirements – also possible as an Abschlussarbeit (Bachelor/Master).

Aufgaben

🖥️ Development & Optimization of an interactive web application with three.js, React, JavaScript, CSS (and optional Python in the backend).

🎨 Design of user-friendly interfaces for Orthopedic technicians: measurement tools, markers & sliders, intuitive editing.

🧩 Implementation of 3D-Reverse-Engineering workflows: Import, alignment, segmentation, mesh repair, export (STL, 3MF).

⚡ Performance Optimization & Responsive Design for a smooth user experience.

_🤝 Collaboration with Orthopedic technicians to validate usability & practicality.

📑 Documentation & Presentation of your results in the team.

Qualifikation

✅ Study in Informatik, Medizintechnik, UX Design, Medieninformatik, Web development or a related field.

✅ First experience with JavaScript, React, HTML & CSS.

✅ Interest in three.js, WebGL or 3D visualization in the browser.

✅ Basic knowledge of 3D data formats (OBJ, STL, PLY, glTF, usda).

✅ Enjoy UX/UI design & a clear view for user-friendliness.

✅ Team spirit, self-initiative & creativity.

Nice-to-have:

🔧 Knowledge of Python (e.g. open3d, trimesh, numpy) for mesh processing.

🔧 Experience with 3D scans & Reverse Engineering (alignment, remeshing, quality checks).

🔧 Interest in Medical Technology, Orthopedics or 3D printing.
