Praktikum / Bachelor / Masterarbeit: Further Development Weather Information Service Backend

Unisphere GmbH, an agile startup in the technology-, information- and internet sector, is looking for a Bachelor / Master thesis: Derivation of empirical flight boundaries for drones based on historical flight data. With its headquarters in Konstanz, Germany, Unisphere has been developing innovative solutions for unmanned aviation since 2017. Our company offers support for drone operators and helicopter manufacturers through our NOVA platform, which functions as a digital co-pilot. We are internationally active and serve customers in Europe, the USA, and Asia. Tasks

Tech Stack: Vue.js, Typescript, Python, Postgres, AWS

Our WIS is a central backend service that aggregates global weather forecast data and makes it available via an API.

Your Tasks:

• Extension and optimization of the existing Python FastAPI backend
• Data processing and storage of geospatial data in PostGIS
• Deployment and operation on AWS
• Performance optimizations and API design

Qualification

• Studies in Computer Science, Data Science, Geoinformatics or a related field
• Familiarity with at least one of the mentioned tech stacks
• Interest in weather and geodata, cloud services or telemetry
• Pleasure in working independently on actual production systems
• Good communication skills and team spirit
