About the Internship
To support our team, we are looking for an Intern (m/f/d) Lean Management / Operational Excellence.
Location: BerlinStart: from October 2026Duration: at least three monthsWorking hours: 40 hours/weekYour MissionDuring your internship, you will combine the practical application of Lean Management in our Berlin laboratories with support for our central Operational Excellence network.
You will analyze real-world processes, develop concrete improvements together with the teams on-site, and accompany their implementation. At the same time, you will support group-wide Lean activities – for example, in training, workshops, communication measures, and campaigns.
You will have the opportunity to work on your own detailed study or Lean initiative from analysis through implementation to the presentation of results.
Your Tasks
- Recording and analysis of operational processes in the Berlin laboratories, for example, using value stream analysis, spaghetti diagrams, or multi-moment studies
- Independent processing of a detailed study or Lean initiative – from problem definition, through the development and implementation of suitable measures, to the presentation of results
- Collection and analysis of relevant key figures and evaluation of the effectiveness of implemented improvement measures
- Development of practical solutions together with the teams on-site, for example, in the areas of 5S, FiFo, visual management, or process standardization
- Support in the preparation, organization, and documentation of Lean workshops, training courses, and other events
- Creation of presentations, posters, templates, and other communication materials for the group-wide Operational Excellence network
- Taking on administrative and organizational tasks and supporting the preparation of group-wide Lean activities and campaigns
- Presentation of the conducted analyses, developed measures, and achieved results to the involved teams and relevant decision-makers*
- Support for projects at other locations within the DACH region, if required
Your Profile
- Current studies in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Business Informatics, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable field of study
- Interest in an internship of at least three months, either mandatory or voluntary
- Strong interest in Lean Management, Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, and the analysis of operational processes
- Analytical, structured, and independent way of working, as well as enjoyment in developing and jointly implementing improvement measures
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working with diverse target groups in a cross-site environment
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to work regularly on-site in the Berlin laboratories and to undertake occasional travel within the DACH region
- Initial practical experience in Lean Management, continuous improvement (KVP), process optimization, or the evaluation of key figures is advantageous, but not a prerequisite
