Praktikant / Masterand - AI-Automation & Internal Operations (m/w/d)

At TOOLPLACE GmbH, we digitalize offer-, calculation-, and procurement processes in the plastics injection molding and toolmaking industry. Our B2B platform connects OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, molders, and toolmakers and makes collaboration more transparent and efficient.

To work as efficiently internally as our customers expect us to, we are looking for a practicum or master's student who thinks AI-first and consistently automates – from recurring processes to complex workflows around administration, finance, sales, projects, and data.

Aufgaben

• You analyze existing internal processes (e.g., Sales-Funnel, offer-, and project data, reporting, onboarding) and identify automation potential.
• You build and optimize automations with No-/Low-Code tools (e.g., Make, Zapier, n8n) as well as with existing systems (e.g., CRM, project management tools, document archives).
• You design and implement AI/LLM-based workflows – for example, structured preparation of customer and project data or automated creation of standard documents and summaries.
• You develop small internal tools or scripts to automate data flows between systems (e.g., in Python).
• You document your solutions clearly and create short instructions so that colleagues can use the automations in their daily work.
• You work closely with the founders and the product team to consistently shape internal processes AI-native.
• Optional (for master's students): You lead a topic from your work for your thesis on the subject of AI-automation, process digitalization, or internal platform workflows.

Qualifikation

• You are enrolled as a student, for example in (business-)informatics, data science, industrial engineering, business administration with strong digital or tech focus, or a comparable MINT study program – more important than the exact title is your genuine interest in automation and AI.
• You have already practically worked with automation or AI tools, for example own projects with Make, Zapier, n8n, or similar tools, or productive use of LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, and others) to support or automate tasks; first scripting experience (e.g., in Python) is a plus.
• You understand basic concepts of data flows, APIs, and webhooks – or are willing to quickly and independently get started.
• You work structured, take responsibility for your topics, and want to bring solutions to life rather than just writing concepts.
• You enjoy dissecting complex processes and building practical, functioning automations.
• You speak fluent German and come up with English in a professional context.
