Job description

As a Practice Assistant General Practice Mental Healthcare, you are the connecting link who brings military patients out of crisis quickly, personally, and professionally, and supports them on their way to a sustainable and confident life.

You take the lead in primary care for military personnel with psychosocial complaints.

With your expertise:
• You conduct independent consultations where patients can go for quick, caring attention and discover the underlying need for help.
• You combine medical knowledge with mental care, so that every complaint is addressed in one visit.

Your role does not stop at the consultation; you are the connecting factor between the patient, the general practitioner, and the entire military mental healthcare chain.
• You provide early detection and keep the patient on course.
• You translate complex information into understandable, usable advice.
• You empower patients and equip them for their own recovery process and make them aware of their own strengths.
• In consultation with specialists and partners, you ensure a seamless handover, so that the patient never falls between two stools.
• You also build a bridge from temporary interventions to lasting stability.

Job requirements

Who are you:
• You have a relevant prior education
• Supplemented with a post-HBO POH GGZ (Practice Assistant General Practice Mental Healthcare) training.
• Preferred days are Tuesday and Wednesday
• You are registered in the national quality register POH GGZ.
• Knowledge of the quality standards of Akwa GGZ.
• You have relevant work experience in mental healthcare, preferably outpatient and with (individual) treatment/or guidance contacts.
• In possession of a driver's license

What do you bring?
You know how to create a safe situation in no time where patients feel at ease with you. You combine professional expertise with a people-oriented approach: you see the person behind the complaint and dare to take the initiative independently. With your communication skills, you translate complex care needs into concrete actions and effortlessly build bridges between patients, general practitioners, and specialists. In short: you are a caring go-getter that military personnel need for their recovery.

Where will you work?
All military personnel fall under the care of the Ministry of Defence. Within Defence, we have 30 primary healthcare centers, located at various barracks. As a POH-GGZ, you will work at the Johannes Post Barracks in Havelte. The team consists of, among others: general practitioners, company doctors, physiotherapists, company doctor's practice assistant, medical assistants, and pharmacy assistants. The number of EGB (Primary Healthcare Company) employees strongly depends on the size of the barracks.
