PPM Engineer

Job Title: PPM Engineer Location: Essex Salary: £52,000 10% bonus Hours: Monday to Friday, days Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and skilled PPM Engineer to join a busy FMCG manufacturing site. The role is key to ensuring all plant and machinery operate at peak efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting production through structured maintenance programmes. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules across all manufacturing equipment. Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgetary constraints. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns, minimising production disruptions. Analyse maintenance data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and optimise PPM schedules. Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, spare parts inventory, and equipment history. Source and procure spare parts and equipment, negotiating with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness. Provide technical support and training to maintenance technicians and other relevant personnel. Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment. Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience in a similar PPM Engineer role within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills. Ability to analyse data and identify trends to improve maintenance strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience in managing and maintaining maintenance budgets. Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
