Job Description:
  • The Power Efficiency Software Engineer will play a critical role in analyzing, developing, and optimizing power efficiency across system-level software and hardware integration.
  • This position requires a technically strong, detail-oriented, and innovative problem-solver with the ability to measure, interpret, and influence software decisions for power optimization.
  • The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create automation frameworks, execute power measurements, and ensure new features meet performance and efficiency goals.

  • Have a keen understanding of the implications of software decisions on power usage, especially in video processing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks for power measurement and regression testing.
  • Execute and analyze power measurement experiments, interpret results, and collaborate with other software teams.
  • Assess and quantify the power impact of new software features, with emphasis on video processing workloads.
  • Create, maintain, and manage dashboards to visualize power metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve power-related issues.
  • Analyze telemetry data and ETL logs to identify, track, and resolve root causes of power regressions.
  • Scale and extend power monitoring methodologies across different ASIC platforms.
  • Work closely with developers, project managers, and hardware teams to drive measurable results.
Required Experience:
  • Hands-on expertise in power profiling and telemetry analysis, including use of ETL trace tools and system logs.
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware (e.g., NI DAQ or equivalent) and building automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for tool development, scripting, and framework creation.
  • Familiarity with video processing pipelines, video codecs, and Windows multimedia features.
  • Multiple years of system-level or embedded software development experience.
Academic Credentials:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
