Job description

About Buena

Buena is building the technology that runs the real estate industry. We make every part of real estate – from finding and financing to buying and managing – as seamless and transparent as possible. To do this, we are acquiring property management companies throughout Germany and transforming them into technology companies. In less than two years and with fewer than 25 people at HQ, we have already become the second-largest property management company in Germany. The next trillion-dollar company in real estate won't sell software. It will operate the industry.

About the Role

We are continuously acquiring property management companies – and from the day of closing, they are yours. As a PMI Associate (Post Merger Integration), you will transform newly acquired, often still analog, management companies into a part of our tech platform: migrating data, rebuilding processes, bringing teams on board – and turning a legacy operation into a smoothly running system within 100 days.

This is not a support role: You will lead your own integrations end-to-end, sit at the table with the managing directors, and make decisions whose impact you can see directly in the numbers.

Your Tasks

  • Lead Integration. You own the 100-day plan for each acquisition end-to-end – workstreams, milestones, deadlines. When an integration is complete, it's your achievement.

  • Migrate Data & Systems. Bring portfolios, properties, and contracts from legacy systems like DOMUS into the Buena platform – completely, cleanly, and without a single invoice being lost.

  • Rebuild Processes. Transition accounting, condominium and rental management, and the daily operations from established, siloed solutions to Buena standards and tools.

  • Win Over Teams. Onboard managing directors and employees of the acquired company, guide them through the change, and become the bridge between the portfolio company and HQ.

  • Make Progress Visible. Track integration KPIs (migration status, invoices, capacity), maintain linearity, and be able to tell leads at any time where each integration stands.

  • Automate Your Workflows. Build recurring steps with AI and automation tools so that the next integration runs faster than the last.

You are a good fit if you

  • have a completed university degree – Business Administration, Economics, Business Studies, (Business) Law, Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

  • drive projects independently. You manage multiple workstreams in parallel, meet deadlines, and maintain an overview in a rapidly changing environment.

  • are analytically strong. Proficient in Excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, clean preparation and consolidation of raw data); you can read and interpret operational and financial key figures (P&L/BWA, revenue, units under management).

  • speak German at C1/native speaker level – contracts, financial statements (BWAs), and communication with the management companies are in German.

  • have 1–3 years of professional experience (full-time) – e.g., in consulting, M&A/integration, corporate development, operations, or a fast-growing startup.

Strong Signal

You stand out if you bring one of these:

  • PMI/Integration Experience: Post-merger integration, carve-outs, or restructuring – in consulting, corporate development, private equity, or in-house.

  • Operations Exposure: Experience in building or scaling operational processes, preferably in a multi-site or rollout context.

  • Real Estate/Proptech Connection: Experience with property management, condominium/rental management, or the real estate industry.

  • Experience with Data Analysis Tools (SQL, Power BI) or CRM/ERP systems and data migration.

  • Affinity for Process Automation and AI Tools.

Your Benefits

  • Up to €500 Close-to-Office Bonus if you decide to live within a 10–20 minute walk of the office.

  • €110/month Lunch Budget, €50 Fitness Subsidy.

  • €1,200 annual further education budget.

  • Free Books: Buena pays for any book you wish to read.

Why You Should Apply Now

  • We are growing rapidly with a small, closely connected team: In the last 3 years, we have become the second-largest property management company in Germany with around 20 full-time employees.

  • We are meritocratic: Your impact is rewarded quickly. Our CEO was a Junior Product Manager 3 years ago, our COO was Chief of Staff 2 years ago.

  • We are personal: We work from our office and place great value on knowing each other well.

  • We care about results: The homeownership rate in Germany is far below the European average. We are here to enable wealth building for everyone.
