Job description
Joining Mines Saint-Étienne means committing to an institution where science and innovation build a more sustainable future. A school of excellence where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute to meeting the challenges of tomorrow.
Ranked among the best engineering schools in France and recognized worldwide, our school, a member of the Institut Mines-Télécom, trains the talents of tomorrow while actively contributing to addressing major industrial, digital, and environmental challenges. With us, you join a community of 500 employees, 2500 students, and participate in an ambitious project: combining academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and positive societal impact.
The Institut Mines-Télécom federates French grandes écoles around major industrial, digital, energy, and ecological challenges. With its 8 public Grandes Écoles and 2 affiliated schools, it is the leading public institute dedicated to engineers and managers. Together, we imagine and build a sustainable future, training the actors who will shape tomorrow's transitions.
🎯 What we expect from you
As a Designer of Autonomous Stretchable Systems, you are at the heart of our training, research, and innovation missions, assigned to the flexible electronics department. Within this department, you combine scientific passion with a taste for innovation.
Within the Provence Microelectronics Center, the FEL department conducts research in the field of flexible and stretchable electronics, for applications dedicated to wearable devices and environmental monitoring. The design of complete systems, from sensor to communication module, based on energy and environmental constraints, is an essential element for the realization of prototypes compatible with the use cases studied.
Your main mission will be, based on the department's know-how, to develop electronic expertise in the field of autonomous/self-powered devices for environmental monitoring (Hydrademo Project) and wearable interfaces for augmented perception (flexeo3D Project). Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of specialized Master's training modules as part of the EDU4chip program.
· You will support the development of autonomous systems within the framework of various departmental projects
· You will contribute to the setup and delivery of a teaching module on autonomous systems design (25 hours) for students of the specialized Master's program "Microelectronics Circuit Designer"
· You will be responsible for the design and implementation of specific sensor and energy interfaces for our system demonstrators
· You will participate in the realization of innovative prototypes and their testing in close collaboration with our research teams
Your ability to work in project mode and to foster dialogue between teaching, research, and concrete applications will be essential for success.
🔍 What we are looking for
You hold a:
· Doctorate or Engineering degree or equivalent in electronics
· Junior accepted: yes if relevant internship experience
In addition, you have:
• Experience in microcontroller systems development
• Practical experience in the design and realization of electronic boards
• Good knowledge of analog electronics
• Knowledge of electronic integration processes on flexible substrates would be a plus
Your additional assets:
• Your practical approach and "maker" spirit
• Your ability to thrive in a collaborative R&D environment
• Your autonomy and initiative
