POS Support & Quality Technician (Cake / Clover Expert)

Department: Field Technician Support Type: 1099 Contractor (Remote with On-Call Availability) Reports to: Dispatch & Quality Assurance Manager About the Role The Senior POS Support & Quality Technician acts as a real-time technical mentor for on-site 1099 technicians performing POS installations and troubleshooting. This role supports field technicians primarily handling Cake and Clover POS jobs, ensuring excellent quality, correct installation standards, and first-visit resolution. Key Responsibilities Provide real-time technical support to field technicians via phone, text, and email. Provide mentorship to field technicians on installation and troubleshooting best practices. Ensure correct installation standards are being met on all jobs. Ensure first-visit resolution is achieved when possible. Review completed installation tickets to ensure quality and completeness. Provide feedback to technicians regarding performance and quality. Identify and escalate recurring issues to the Dispatch & Quality Assurance Manager. Maintain expert-level knowledge of Cake and Clover POS systems, hardware, and software. Stay up-to-date on the latest POS technology and industry trends. Assist with the creation and maintenance of training materials. Participate in quality assurance initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience with Cake and Clover POS systems. Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide clear and concise instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Must have reliable internet access and a quiet workspace. Availability to work on-call, including evenings and weekends. Experience in a field service environment is preferred.
