PLC/SCADA Software Engineer – C/C++ | Railway Sector

PLC/SCADA Software Engineer with at least 4/5 years of experience, strong competence in C/C++ programming and PLC background, for software development activities in the railway sector.

1. YOUR ROLE

• You will join the PLC-SCADA Design and Development team, primarily responsible for software programming and development for automation systems.
• You will work on existing and already structured code, intervening in the development, completion, integration, and maintenance of software functionalities.
• You will operate on solutions applied mainly to the signaling, railway safety, and telecommunications sectors.
• You will handle project activities with a good level of autonomy, interfacing with technical teams during development, verification, testing, and commissioning phases.

2. YOUR DUTIES

• Develop and modify software in C/C++ and similar languages, working on existing code and completing functionalities based on technical specifications.
• Design and develop PLC applications and HMI/SCADA systems, integrating them with the project's software components.
• Manage code debugging, testing, verification, and integration activities, collaborating in testing, commissioning, and deployment phases.
• Support project engineering activities, from design to solution validation, including at the client's site and through potential travel.

3. REQUIREMENTS

• At least 4/5 years of professional experience, preferably gained in the railway, signaling, industrial automation, or safety systems sectors, with at least 3/4 years of concrete software programming experience.
• Solid knowledge of C and C++ programming, with the ability to work on existing code, make modifications, develop new functionalities, and perform debugging.
• Background in PLC programming and knowledge of at least one of the main environments: Beckhoff TwinCAT, Schneider Electric Unity Pro/Control Expert, SoMachine/Machine Expert; the ability to read electrical schematics is also required.
• Knowledge of SCADA/HMI systems, preferably Copa-Data Zenon, Schneider Electric Power Operator/Power SCADA Expert or Citect, and of the main protocols Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, SNMP, OPC UA. Good knowledge of English and willingness to travel to Villaricca complete the profile.

What we offer

Gross Annual Salary: €30,000 – €45,000

The position is classified according to the CCNL Commercio e Terziario applied by the company.

The classification and remuneration will be determined based on:

• technical skills;
• experience gained in the role;
• outcome of the selection process;
• according to objective and neutral criteria.

For profiles with characteristics particularly qualified compared to the indicated range, a review of the offer may be considered, subject to internal approval.
