Platform & Infrastructure Engineer (m/w/d)

Full Time Lead

Job description

About us

Aurivian is a Shopware agency from Karlsruhe. We develop, operate, and optimize eCommerce solutions based on Shopware 6 for medium-sized retailers in the DACH region. We are a small team and want to continue growing, so we're looking for reinforcement for our infrastructure department.

Your role

As Platform & Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating our technical platform. You will ensure that our customer shops run stably, performantly, and securely, build out our CI/CD structures, and relieve the development team from infrastructure and security issues.

Today, our customer shops are running on Hetzner and other cloud hosting partners. In the medium term, we want to offer Shopware PaaS (on Upsun basis) and Shopware PaaS Native (on AWS basis). You will drive this build-out together with us.

Our infrastructure department is currently still greenfield. This gives you the opportunity to shape architecture, processes, and tooling actively, rather than just managing existing structures. You will work independently and align directly with management and development leadership on strategic topics.

Your tasks

  • Configuration and operation of our cloud and server infrastructure for customer shops
  • BUILDING a Shopware PaaS offering on Upsun basis (medium-term also possible on AWS)
  • Administration and optimization of hosting environments, clusters, and deployments
  • BUILDING and further development of CI/CD workflows
  • Monitoring, logging, and reporting system health
  • Performance optimization in the eCommerce context
  • Implementation and further development of IT security measures (e.g. DNS, Zero Trust, access concepts)
  • Management of internal IT systems (MDM, Entra ID, hardware, software)
  • AUTOMATION of recurring processes
  • CLOSE collaboration with the development team on architecture and infrastructure decisions

Your profile

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in operating web and cloud infrastructures
  • Solid Linux server administration
  • Practical experience with Docker and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar)
  • Experience with Git-based workflows
  • Understanding of web performance, security, and scalability
  • Ideal candidate has experience in eCommerce or SaaS environments
  • Structured, independent working style
  • Good German language skills (Level B2+)

Bonus points for

  • Experience with Shopware 6 or a comparable PHP eCommerce system
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with Upsun, Platform.sh, or Kubernetes
  • AWS certifications

What you can expect from us

  • Tech responsibility with design freedom. You will build our infrastructure department from scratch.
  • Short decision-making paths.
  • Modern hardware and free tool selection.
  • €55,000 to €65,000 gross per year for full-time, depending on experience.
  • 30 days of vacation.
  • Further education as needed: online course, certification, trade show visit, whatever you like and fits the role.
  • Workplace in SteamWork Karlsruhe, a coworking space with regular tech events and networking opportunities.
  • Full-time or part-time possible.

Application

Send us your CV and a few sentences about yourself. We don't need a classic application letter. Write us briefly what interests you in the role and what you want to build on from your last position.
