Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer (Java, Spring Boot & TypeScript) | Contract (12month) | Auckland (Hybrid) We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Full Stack / Platform Engineer to join a talented engineering team focused on improving developer productivity and building world-class internal developer platforms. About the Role This is a hands-on role where you'll leverage your expertise in Java Spring Boot, TypeScript and Backstage to create scalable backend services, reusable software templates, and self-service platforms for our developers. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying these platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of our engineering teams. Key Responsibilities & Requirements: • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot and TypeScript. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize platform requirements. • Develop reusable software templates and self-service platforms for our developers. • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our internal developer platforms. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to platform development. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the field of platform engineering. What You'll Need: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. • At least 5 years of experience in platform engineering, software development, or a related field. • Strong understanding of Java Spring Boot and TypeScript programming languages. • Experience with Backstage and other cloud-based platforms. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
