Platform Engineer – Data Automation

We are looking for a colleague to strengthen our team on the automation side. Within the storage and back-up team, we have various activities that need to be automated or optimized. The storage and back-up solutions have access to multiple APIs and playbooks that we use. Additionally, we are busy innovating our service delivery and technology. Therefore, also exploring the market and brainstorming is on the agenda. We work from two locations in the country, namely Apeldoorn and Maastricht.

The job consists of:

• Creating, managing, and developing a storage and backup repository for tooling, automation, and scheduling of tasks.
• Brainstorming/developing/testing improvements to our service delivery
• Orienting manual activities towards automated activities
• The storage & back-up world is constantly in motion, our services are too, which means the need to automate and improve continues.
• Improving and fully automating data provision from various environments to the data lake.

Due to the high degree of self-management within the team, you have a say with the rest of your colleagues in how we perform our work.

You are responsible for developing and maintaining concepts for automation. Additionally, you will be the first point of contact for colleagues with automation questions. KPN has already used several portals to manage different chains, you will need to seek cooperation to automate the chain and portal management for Storage & Back-up. You strive continuously towards simplification as your ultimate goal is to make the platform stable and efficient. You open the platform up to higher-level parties to perform automated chain activities and provide guidelines for delegating responsibility.

You are also responsible for automating as much as possible of administrative tasks, implementation tasks, migration tasks, upgrades, LCM tasks, in short, as much as possible.
