GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible to implement, maintain and improve the plastic injection molding processes and ensure technical availability of equipment in all shifts.
- Fulfil Value Stream KPI’s: IDC, FOR, Technical Down time.
- New product introduction, equipment and process definition, acquisition, validation and installation on production environment.
- Develop process and instructions for plastic injection molding processes, write material to train technicians, and processes for maintenance: Preventive, predictive and corrective.
- Define and execute training programs related to plastic injection molding technologies, mold technologies, and equipment maintenance.
- Lead or support projects to improve yield, cost, and cycle time. Qualify new products, tools, and materials, and keep updated knowledge with technology advancements.
- Develop and manage the annual operational plan and budget for the molding engineering department, ensuring effective cost control.
- Plan and coordinate annual work schedules and activities, achieving productivity and quality performance indicators.
- Participate in early-stage project planning, trial production, and mass production ramp-up to ensure successful new molding products launches.
- Evaluate and refine mold tooling, participate in design reviews, and build/adjust robot end-of-arm tooling. Source new equipment as production needs evolve.
- Strong partner with design, manufacturing, and suppliers for manufacturability feedback, and ensure smooth production ramp-up.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysis and solution of problems related with processes and test equipment within manufacturing areas.
- Responsible for the creation of preventive maintenance routines for machinery and tooling.
- Responsible for the design and/or integration of hardware, software, electrical systems, and communication systems based on reliable and robust sources for the manufacturing areas.
- Responsible for the definition, procurement, and registration of spare parts of processes under responsibility.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing areas in downtime events related to the processes under responsibility.
- Responsible for the assurance of processes free from safety risks.
- Definition, procurement, installation, validation, and start-up of new machinery.
- Technical support during the launch phase of new products.
- Definition and implementation of measures to improve the processes under responsibility (e.g. metrics such as cycle time, up time, quality).
- Be an active member of international multi-disciplinary teams.
- Develop semi-automated processes in an automotive electronics environment.
