Plant Engineer

Job Title: Plant Engineer Location: Limpopo, South Africa Industry: Mining RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Plant Engineer to join their mining operations in Limpopo. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of all plant equipment, implementing improvements to existing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Responsibilities: Develop and implement maintenance strategies for plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Oversee and manage the maintenance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of maintenance activities. Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment to identify potential issues and proactively address them. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, utilizing problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Manage the plant's budget, including maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and equipment upgrades. Develop and implement strategies to improve plant efficiency and reduce operating costs. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including the implementation of safety protocols and procedures. Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operations. Manage and maintain the plant's inventory of spare parts, ensuring that adequate supplies are available to support maintenance activities. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to plant engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience as a Plant Engineer in a mining or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of plant equipment, including crushing, screening, and conveying systems. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to effectively manage a maintenance team and prioritize tasks. Strong understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance. Experience with budgeting and cost management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
