Job description
BMK Farm Pty Ltd is a progressive and reputable livestock operation specialising in high-quality pig production. With a strong focus on animal welfare, genetics, and sustainability, we are committed to breeding and raising healthy, productive pigs that meet industry standards. As our operation grows, we are seeking dedicated and experienced Pig Breeding Head Technicians to lead our breeding program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and supervision of piggery breeding program activities
- Collecting pig semen
- Processing pig semen for use in artificial insemination
- Performing artificial insemination in a piggery setting
- Livestock heat detection
- Administering vaccination of, and medication to sow herd
Requirements:
- Certificate III or higher in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience) or one year work experience in similar role
- Strong knowledge of artificial insemination, farrowing management, and herd health monitoring.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a hands-on, rural environment.
- Commitment to animal welfare and workplace safety.
