Qpisemi develops full-stack hardware including silicon photonic devices, electronic integration and system-level packaging for high-bandwidth and low-latency compute platforms. Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Photonics Design Engineer to join our team. As a Photonics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, simulation, and testing of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and optical systems. You will work closely with other engineers to develop innovative solutions for high-performance computing applications. Responsibilities: * Design and simulate PICs using industry-standard software tools (e.g., Lumerical, COMSOL). * Develop and optimize optical designs for various applications, including transceivers, AI accelerators, and interconnects. * Collaborate with fabrication engineers to ensure manufacturability and performance of PIC designs. * Perform optical measurements and characterization of PICs. * Analyze data and provide technical reports. * Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in photonics technology. * Contribute to the development of new products and technologies. Qualifications: * Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. * Strong understanding of photonics principles and optical design. * Experience with PIC design and simulation software (e.g., Lumerical, COMSOL). * Knowledge of optical components and systems (e.g., lasers, waveguides, detectors). * Experience with optical measurements and characterization techniques. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with silicon photonics. * Experience with III-V photonics. * Experience with packaging and integration of photonic devices. * Familiarity with data center or high-performance computing applications.
