Pflichtpraktikum CAD-Design & FDM 3D-Druck (m/w/d) - Open Source Tools & MedTech-Startup
Job description
ποΈ You're looking for a practical training or semester abroad, where you can connect CAD-Design and FDM 3D-Printing?
π¨οΈ You want to design precise components with modern, cost-effective CAD tools β and bring them to life at the FDM printer?
Then you're exactly right at Think3DDD!
We are a multiple-award-winning startup from Berlin-Adlershof and develop digital solutions in the field of 3D-Scan, 3D-Print, and Medical Technology.
Our goal is to transform complex manufacturing processes into intuitive, sustainable, and patient-individual products for users from medicine and orthopedic technology.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for engaged interns in the field of CAD-Design & FDM 3D-Printing, who want to work on real products and actively shape the entire process from digital model to finished component.
Aufgaben
π CAD-Konstruktion & Modellierung β Design, adaptation, and further development of 3D models for orthopedic aids and test components with accessible CAD tools (e.g. Fusion 360, Tinkercad, Blender).
π Parametrisches & generatives Design β Development of adaptable, patient-individual models based on 3D scan data or measurement values.
π¨οΈ FDM 3D-Druck β Slicing & Prozessoptimierung β Preparation of print files with slicing software (e.g. Cura, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer), selection of suitable print parameters and materials (PLA, PETG, TPU, biobased filaments).
π§ͺ QualitΓ€tssicherung & Nachbearbeitung β Inspection of print results for dimensional accuracy, strength, and fit.
π§ Druckerbetrieb & -wartung β Support in operating and maintaining our FDM printer line.
π€ Zusammenarbeit mit dem Team β Close coordination with software development, orthopedic technicians, and product development to make designs practical and production-ready.
Qualifikation
π Enrolled student in a relevant field of study, e.g.:
- Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Technology, Medical Technology
- Industrial Design, Product Design, Technical Design
- or a comparable field with a focus on CAD, Construction, or Production Technology
β First experience with CAD software β e.g. Fusion 360, Meshmixer, Tinkercad, or Blender (experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, etc. also welcome).
β Basic understanding of FDM 3D-Printing (print parameters, materials, support structures, slicing).
β Interest in parametric or generative design.
β Sensitive, structured working style and technical understanding.
β Team spirit, self-motivation, and a sense of fun.
β Good German or English skills.
π¬ Important: Perfect skills are not a must β Motivation, willingness to learn, and a sense of proportion and function count more.
Benefits
π Hands-on experience β work on real products and have a direct impact on medical technology.
π¨ Gestaltungsspielraum β bring your own ideas for CAD designs, print strategies, or material experiments.
βοΈ Startup culture β flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths, room for ideas.
π’ Top location Berlin-Adlershof β technology park and research environment.
π Flexible working hours & home office option.
π± Sense and impact β work on products that make healthcare more sustainable.
π€ Networking β contacts with orthopedic technicians, research institutions, and MedTech partners.
We look forward to motivated, technically interested people who want to experience CAD-Design and FDM 3D-Printing in a meaningful, medical context β and actually shape something that makes a difference for people.
Whether student, student, or diverse β we value engagement, technical intuition, and the joy of being involved from design to finished print.
π‘ Please note: This internship is an unpaid practical training. It is aimed at students who want to complete a practical training or their Bachelor's or Master's thesis in a startup environment.
For this, we offer you:
- real insights into CAD workflows, FDM production, and sustainable materials,
- professional guidance and feedback,
- and the opportunity to shape products from digital model to finished component actively.
π If you're interested in working with Fusion 360, Meshmixer, and FDM 3D-Printing on products that support orthopedic technicians in their daily work, we look forward to your application!
