Pflichtpraktikum CAD-Design & FDM 3D-Druck (m/w/d) - Open Source Tools & MedTech-Startup

Internship Entry Level

Job description

πŸ–ŠοΈ You're looking for a practical training or semester abroad, where you can connect CAD-Design and FDM 3D-Printing?
πŸ–¨οΈ You want to design precise components with modern, cost-effective CAD tools – and bring them to life at the FDM printer?

Then you're exactly right at Think3DDD!

We are a multiple-award-winning startup from Berlin-Adlershof and develop digital solutions in the field of 3D-Scan, 3D-Print, and Medical Technology.

Our goal is to transform complex manufacturing processes into intuitive, sustainable, and patient-individual products for users from medicine and orthopedic technology.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for engaged interns in the field of CAD-Design & FDM 3D-Printing, who want to work on real products and actively shape the entire process from digital model to finished component.

Aufgaben

πŸ“ CAD-Konstruktion & Modellierung – Design, adaptation, and further development of 3D models for orthopedic aids and test components with accessible CAD tools (e.g. Fusion 360, Tinkercad, Blender).

πŸ”„ Parametrisches & generatives Design – Development of adaptable, patient-individual models based on 3D scan data or measurement values.

πŸ–¨οΈ FDM 3D-Druck – Slicing & Prozessoptimierung – Preparation of print files with slicing software (e.g. Cura, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer), selection of suitable print parameters and materials (PLA, PETG, TPU, biobased filaments).

πŸ§ͺ QualitΓ€tssicherung & Nachbearbeitung – Inspection of print results for dimensional accuracy, strength, and fit.

πŸ”§ Druckerbetrieb & -wartung – Support in operating and maintaining our FDM printer line.

🀝 Zusammenarbeit mit dem Team – Close coordination with software development, orthopedic technicians, and product development to make designs practical and production-ready.

Qualifikation

πŸŽ“ Enrolled student in a relevant field of study, e.g.:

  • Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Technology, Medical Technology
  • Industrial Design, Product Design, Technical Design
  • or a comparable field with a focus on CAD, Construction, or Production Technology

βœ… First experience with CAD software – e.g. Fusion 360, Meshmixer, Tinkercad, or Blender (experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, etc. also welcome).

βœ… Basic understanding of FDM 3D-Printing (print parameters, materials, support structures, slicing).

βœ… Interest in parametric or generative design.

βœ… Sensitive, structured working style and technical understanding.

βœ… Team spirit, self-motivation, and a sense of fun.

βœ… Good German or English skills.

πŸ’¬ Important: Perfect skills are not a must – Motivation, willingness to learn, and a sense of proportion and function count more.

Benefits

πŸš€ Hands-on experience – work on real products and have a direct impact on medical technology.

🎨 Gestaltungsspielraum – bring your own ideas for CAD designs, print strategies, or material experiments.

βš–οΈ Startup culture – flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths, room for ideas.

🏒 Top location Berlin-Adlershof – technology park and research environment.

πŸ•“ Flexible working hours & home office option.

🌱 Sense and impact – work on products that make healthcare more sustainable.

🀝 Networking – contacts with orthopedic technicians, research institutions, and MedTech partners.

We look forward to motivated, technically interested people who want to experience CAD-Design and FDM 3D-Printing in a meaningful, medical context – and actually shape something that makes a difference for people.

Whether student, student, or diverse – we value engagement, technical intuition, and the joy of being involved from design to finished print.

πŸ’‘ Please note: This internship is an unpaid practical training. It is aimed at students who want to complete a practical training or their Bachelor's or Master's thesis in a startup environment.

For this, we offer you:

  • real insights into CAD workflows, FDM production, and sustainable materials,
  • professional guidance and feedback,
  • and the opportunity to shape products from digital model to finished component actively.

πŸ‘‰ If you're interested in working with Fusion 360, Meshmixer, and FDM 3D-Printing on products that support orthopedic technicians in their daily work, we look forward to your application!
